Japanese Leaders Will Check Out NM's Natural Gas Reserves

Japan is sending a group to New Mexico to look at ways the state could help Japan meet its energy needs, a New Mexico oil industry spokesman said this week. The New Mexico Oil and Gas Association and the state will host a group from the Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry early next week that will explore ways to use New Mexico's natural gas reserves, said Wally Drangmeister, a spokesman for NMOGA. After the Fukushima nuclear accident, Japan has been searching for new sources of energy.
