The protracted approval process for the proposed Keystone XL pipeline has stepped up lobby spending as dozens of groups pay to keep the issue alive, according to a Bloomberg report. Calgary-based TransCanada Corp. (NYSE: TRP) initially filed for approval to build the multibillion-dollar pipeline four years ago.
