A northeast Ohio power management company that is building a new headquarters in Beachwood said it will merge with an electrical components and tools supplier in Ireland, where it would be incorporated, the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports. Eaton Corp. (NYSE:ETN) shareholders would own 73 percent of the merged company, which will be combined with Cooper Industries, the newspaper reports. American Electric Power Company Inc. is undercutting rates and making a push for customers in the northern part of the state that FirstEnergy Corp. has traditionally dominated, the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports. Columbus-based AEP (NYSE:AEP) is offering customers a rate of 5.69 cents a kilowatt hour in exchange for a two-year contract, the newspaper reports.
