Looking to neutralize a top campaign issue of Republican U.S. Senate candidate George Allen, Democrat Tim Kaine on Tuesday unveiled an energy agenda that would promote renewable fuel sources while backing offshore drilling and the use of fossil fuels, including Virginia's coal reserves, the Washington Examiner reported. Kaine's plan echoes an approach to energy production backed by Virginia's two Democratic senators, Jim Webb and Mark Warner, and Republican Gov. Bob McDonnell.
