U.S. regulators will hold the second Gulf of Mexico lease sale since the Macondo disaster on June 20 in New Orleans, the Interior Department said May 17. The Bureau of Ocean Energy Management said the event, held in the Mercedes-Benz Superdome, will offer 7,276 blocks on about 38.6 million acres in the central section of the Gulf.
