A hearing is scheduled later this month for the license renewal of FirstEnergy Corp.'s Davis-Besse nuclear power plant that was idled last year when a crack in its outer shell was discovered, the Toledo Blade reports. Four intervenors have filed a contention with the federal Atomic Safety and Licensing Board, which is weighing FirstEnergy's (NYSE:FE) request for a 20-year extension of its license, the newspaper reports.
