Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell said Tuesday that the Chesapeake Bay will play host to the country's first off-shore wind turbine next year, the Washington Examiner reported. The single turbine, which will be installed three miles off Virginia's shore, is a prototype that energy company Gamesa Energy USA will use to test the viability of larger off-shore wind farms.
