Founder & Chief Executive Officer :: Conceptualized energyDigger in late 2005, Mr. Ward is a petroleum engineer directly involved in the energy industry since 1979. Presently Mr. Ward is operating in the capacity of senior deepwater drilling supervisor for Shell Oil Company in the Gulf of Mexico. As an accomplished programmer & web designer with a keen interest in all aspects of the energy industries, Kevin conceptualized building a web-based repository of information for conventional as well as alternative energy industries for research and education. Kevin teamed with j.r.lyman in Dallas, Texas in 2005 to develop a broad-based energy industry database of news and reference information which has been a rapidly growing resource since that time. energyDigger offices are located in Dallas, Texas.

Founder & Chief Technical Officer :: Now retired, John (j.r. to his friends) has been involved in the computer industry since the early '80s. Along with Kevin Ward, he began work in November 2005 on the first energyDigger page. Since then he has shepherded the site through its numerous evolutions. Since moving to Dallas in 1993, Mr Lyman has been involved in the design and development of more than 50 different websites. In addition to website design and development, his services included writing Windows device drivers, services, applications and database design & administration.

Fred W. Dougherty, P.E., BAE, MME

Contributing Editor :: Fred graduated from Georgia Tech in 1960 and earned his master of mechanical engineering degree from the University of Florida in 1969. His professional career includes aeronautics with Pan Am, development of space shuttle rocket engines & military gas turbine engines with Pratt & Whitney & design of 7.5MW biomass power plants. Since 1982 he has been planning & designing building mechanical systems. A licensed professional engineer in Florida, Fred has authored several books, published technical papers and brings a distintively engineered technical approach with extensive background research to energyDigger readers.


Bert Sloan, petroleum engineer

Contributing Editor :: Bert Sloan has over 30 years of experience in the oilfield and holds a degree in petroleum engineering from The University of New South Wales in Sydney Australia. Bert teaches the directional drilling school for a major oilfield service company and works as drilling and engineering consultant for major oil companies. His experience also includes electromechanical design of down hole instrumentation and manufacturing process control. Bert has authored drilling and directional drilling applications. He has worked in many of the most volatile and remote energy producing areas on the globe. His "have briefcase will travel" persona has earned him a reputation as a no-nonsense realist in the world of energy and politics. Bert lives in the Dallas Fort Worth area where he can also be found flying airplanes, riding motorcycles or racing cars. Mallory S. May, III., BA, MAT, M.Div., Ph.D.

Contributing Editor :: Dr. May has engaged in projects during the past 40 years for manufacturing, mining, oil and gas, and electric power generation facilities to comply with the federal Clean Air, Clean Water, Solid Waste Disposal, and Superfund Acts. Dr. May conducts environmental due diligence and ecological assessment investigations for power plants, construction materials mining and manufacturing, oil and gas exploration world-wide.
